2014 Premiers September 2014
For the fourth time in 10 years the Donnybrook Ladies Hockey Club team are A3W Premiers. The win came on Friday night when Donnybrook beat Bunbury Team Associates at the Bunbury Hockey Stadium. Played in perfect conditions in front of a big crowd of supporters, the Donnybrook team played composed hockey for the full 110 minutes. From the first whistle the pressure was intense from both sides. The halftime score was 0-0 and Donnybrook knew the momentum had to be maintained. Midway through the second half, after some intense play in the circle, a goal was scored by Donna Whitton. All players continued to mark their opponents closely and Donnybrook kept Associates scoreless.
The younger players Shae Tylor, Georgia Rutter, Sharna Denholm and Emily Graham have all come into their own and continued their domination and played with fierce determination and great poise. Although the Donnybrook Ladies Hockey team didn't win a premiership this season, there was great rejoicing after two players from the team received awards from the Bunbury Hockey & Districts Association last week.

Dynamic forward player Lydia Torrisi won the Fairest & Best Award for the A3 Division after another stellar year on the field. Her great speed and skill made her a highly valued member of the team and contributed to the team making the finals. Lydia also won the award last year.

Junior member of the team, 13 year old Emily Graham was awarded the Junior Girls 7/8 Fairest & Best. Emily played with her peers on Saturday mornings for the Towns South Hockey Club and then was a regular player for the Donnybrook Ladies team.
